This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our translation management platform, Chrome extension, CLI tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Organization name
  • Authentication credentials (securely hashed)

2.2 Project Data

When you use our Services, we store:

  • Translation keys and values you create
  • Project configuration and settings
  • Team member information and permissions
  • Activity logs and audit trails
  • Comments and collaboration data

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Pages visited and features used
  • API usage and request patterns

2.4 Chrome Extension

Our Chrome extension collects:

  • Translation keys detected on pages you edit
  • Your API key (stored locally in browser storage)
  • Extension preferences and settings

The extension does NOT collect browsing history, personal data from websites, or any information from pages where you don't actively use the extension.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our Services
  • Process translations and manage your projects
  • Send important updates and notifications
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve and optimize our Services
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. AI Translation Services

When you use our AI translation features, your source text is sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Google, DeepL) to generate translations. These providers process your data according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing:

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting (Cloudflare, DigitalOcean), payment processing (Polar), email delivery (Resend)
  • AI Providers: For translation services (as described above)
  • Your Team: Project data is shared with team members you invite
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Passwords hashed using bcrypt
  • API keys encrypted at rest
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • SOC 2 Type II compliance (in progress)

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion:

  • Personal data is deleted within 30 days
  • Backups are purged within 90 days
  • Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Export your data (data portability)
  • Object to or restrict processing
